Blog Focus: Tibetan Mastiff, Coconut Crab, The Other Guys and Coaches Poll
In today's blog focus, we'll cover Tibetan Mastiff, Coconut Crab, The Other Guys and the coaches poll.
Tibetan Mastiff
Bloggers are talking about the Tibetan Mastiff, a breed of large domesticated dog, which was was highlighted this morning on The Today Show.
Since this morning, the interwebs and news sites have pushed outstories of these dogs, seen as a status symbol in China.
The dogs retail for upwards of $600,000, but can be found in the United States for under $1,000.
The Tibetan Mastiff (Do-khyi) is a very ancient breed.
Coconut Crab
Have you seen the picture of the massive Coconut Crab someone took? There are various posts online about this specific crab and it's just as big as a trash barrel.
The Coconut crab receives its name because of its ability to crack the coconuts and eat them with their massive pincers. It's typically found in the tropical Indian and Pacific Ocean and can be as big as three feet from head to tail, weighing 40 pounds.
The Other Guys
Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell's big comedy hits the big screen and bloggers are buzzing about it. Early reviews agree that the movie is funny and worth the time to check out.
One blogger said, "A bizarre running joke about Ferrell’s impossibly hot wife (Eva Mendes) gets funnier every time the movie revisits it, and Wahlberg might be even better at playing a hilariously exasperated, shvitzing parody of a tough guy than he is at playing the real thing."

Coaches Poll
Finally, USA Today's coaches poll is out and defending champion Alabama is at the top. Technorati covered it, but the rest of the blogosphere did as well.
One of the posts is from a Pittsburg area blogger who was lamenting that Pitt and Penn State are back to back in the first poll of the year.
