Connecting Through Mind, Body, Spirit, and Gadget
Pair is an app that is designed to keep couples connected at the iPhone. Not only can couples keep in touch via text message, but Pair allows you to share photos, videos, sketches, and much more. A collection of these moments compile into a private timeline for you and your boo to look back on.
If you are single (by choice of course) and reading this, hold your gag reflex--there's more! Pair offers a few quirky features that make this app especially fun for couples. Thumbkiss is a live feature that lets you see where you parter is placing their thumb on the screen. When your thumb touches their thumbprint, both phones will vibrate. So cute and clever! You can also let your partner know you're thinking about them with the press of a button. This feature alerts your partner once the button is hit, which comes in handy if you're the boyfriend who gets the "You never think about me anymore" quite frequently. Just press the button!
Pair has been live in the iTunes app store for about three weeks. It's in its infant stage right now but I see a lot of potential.
The "Ehhhhh, needs some work":
-The Moments folder is a collection of photos and sketches you and your partner have shared but these moments can't be deleted.
-There should be a "choose video from library" option when sharing videos.
-A thumbkiss alert would be nice so you're not sitting there for 25 minutes like a loser waiting for your partner's thumbprint to pop up.
-No customized tone--sounds the same as Facebook and Twitter alerts. *Ding ding* "Oooh someone tweeted me! Oh it's just my boyfriend's thumb."
-Message send failure...kind of often. But who cares, just sketch what you have to say. Duh..
-A shared calendar tab would be great.
