Dave Carroll Presents Gripevine - Page 2
Now, those who have a voice have been given an outlet to express their concerns and in some cases directly with the company that they have that beef with.
“Think of it as Yelp on steroids.” Dave said when speaking of his creation.
Dave is the co-founder of Gripevine. It is a social media platform for consumer-complaint resolution. Gripevine takes consumers’ various complaints and sends them directly to the company in question via their interactive dashboard platform so they can handle it immediately. This eliminates the countless calls, long hours waiting and tons of e-mails that unfortunately come with the territory for many who deal with deplorable customer service.
Close to 100 companies have signed up to interact with consumers on Gripevine and solve complaints. Verizon, Home Depot, Walgreens, Coca-Cola, H&R Block, Sharp, Sprint, GE Capital, Orbitz, Avast, Fantastic Sams, Hewlett Packard, Mazda, Shoppers Drug Mart, Iberia Airlines, Cisco, and Whirlpool are just to name a few who have joined.

The power in the relationship between consumers and businesses have shifted to favor the consumer for the first time and some businesses are having a real hard time with that, while other businesses are seeing social media as an opportunity. It’s a really interesting time to see how two companies react differently.”
The average visitor of Gripevine spends an average of over 7 minutes, that is an extremely long time in the world of web surfing.
Dave discusses what his inspiration was to help give a voice to those might’ve believed they were voiceless and his reaction to being a recipient of bad customer service.

I was just like anybody else, it just happened to be something that meant more to me than a suitcase or a jacket. A musician’s guitar is a lot more important, we would take that approach with a suitcase. That’s why I was passionate about it and that’s why I saw it through.”
