Have you ever been to an event and wondered if someone you have a connection with was in the room? Were you ever unable to go out to a concert because the tickets were sold out and you were left at home to wonder how the event turned out? Have you ever used Sonar and Mobli? These localized apps keep you from wondering too much about such things.

Sonar

Sonar uses your social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin to show you the people in your network that are nearest to your location, whether that is your friend, a mutual friend, or even someone who attended the same university as you. Therefore, if you are at a conference and think you don't know anyone there, think twice and discover people there who you know better than you thought.

Mobli

Mobli lets you see what is happening in a place where you can't be. Likewise, this app lets you show others what is happening in your location. Mobli users share tips and recommendations about things to do and see in a city like existing localized Q&A apps Localmind and Askalo, but specifically Mobli lets you exchange discoveries with photos, videos, and texts. A photo tagging system allows you to follow users, as well as search for images on the site. Mobli groups all images for one specific tag together so you can really see everything related to a particular event or place. Therefore if you are considering going to a friend's party, you can use Mobli to literally see what your friends see at the party and decide whether you want to join the party yourself.
