Do Facebook Users Want to See Viewing Statistics on Posts? - Page 3
The comments section on this Techcrunch article sum it all up pretty well, a few of them make some pretty valid points about the state of Facebook and how we use it. Basically, we're all sheep. (Comments copy/pasted without grammar or spelling corrections.)
"Facebookers are the new pilgrims. Completely devoted zealots whore-shipping at the alter of Mark every waking minute. Most exceeding the fundamentalism of the old world religions in their blind faith of enlightenment, piety and rabidness of their newly founded technological zuckerberg communism/socialism. Mark Zuckerberg will be the new messiah when and if the stars align as planned. Most drones and sheep cannot live without facebook theses days anyway, so the prophecy is likely to come to pass."
"It would be interesting. Also it would shine a light on what FB really does with your posts. Since FB started to filter posts in everyone's news feed, it's like a lottery of what you're gonna see. This could put things straight. Also it would benefit those who actually pay to promote their posts. They could see if FB is actually doing it's end of the deal. The latter is probably why FB engineers don't really wanna have the cat out of the bag.."
"It's pretty simple, Facebook will never add view count or knowing who looked at your profile. The main reason is that this is the only feature which differentiates Facebook from a Dating site."
