Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg Updates his Relationship Status To "Married"
Facebook Founder and the world's youngest billionaire Mark Zuckerberg married his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan. The couple married just a day after the historic Facebook IPO.
The wedding took place on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Mark's home in Palo Alto, California. About 100 guests attended the wedding ceremony. The guests arrived with the intention of celebrating Priscilla's Graduation. Priscilla graduated in medicine from the University of California on 14th of this month. To remind you Mark celebrated his 28th birthday on this day!
27 year old Priscilla Chan is an Chinese American. The couple first met at Friday-night party held at the Jewish fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi. The couple has been dating nine years.
Soon after the ceremony Mark updated the status on his Facebook profile as "Married Priscilla Chan". The status was flooded with likes and comments immediately after it was posted. Thousands of people all around the world congratulated the newly-wed couple.
Zuckerberg co-founded Facebook along with his classmates Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin, and Chris Hughes while they were students at Harvard University. Zuckerberg is the largest individual shareholder with 28.4 percent of the common stock and 56.9 percent of the voting power. As of 2012, his personal wealth was estimated at more than $19.1 billion, making him one of the world's youngest billionaires. Zuckerberg is one of the 30 richest people on Earth.
As of May 2012, Facebook has over 900 million active users. According to a report from Social Media Today, in April 2010 an estimated 41.6% of the U.S. population had a Facebook account.
