Google Maps Goes the Distance
The Google Operating System blog is reporting that Google Maps Labs added a distance measurement tool.
Gone are the days of having to look at the measurement key and having to do math.
Once the user enables the feature in the Labs section of Google Maps settings, they will notice a small ruler at the bottom of the map. if the user clicks on the ruler and they'll be able to use the distance measurement tool by clicking on the map and tracing the path they wanted to measure.
If the user clicks on "I'm feeling geeky", they will be allowed to select from a lengthy list of measurement units, including light-year, parsec, PostScript points, Olympic swimming pools, American footbal fields, Persian cubits and more.
What do you think of the measurement feature?
