Google Plus unveils Ripples for marketers

 

When you work online time is always against you, especially if you are trying to gauge the effectiveness of that marketing. Until now you had to rely on social media predictive tools to help you understand what was happening. These however, were less accurate and only gave you the picture in a narrow part of the social media channel.

In what must amount to the best gift online marketers could have this side of Christmas, Google unveiled, today, the ability to see the effectiveness of public posts in its social network, Google+, with just one click. The feature is being rolled out across the US, first, with all other regions to follow in the next few days.

The ability to analyse the effectiveness of public posts which are used by social media marketers as the base of much of their online marketing will sensitize many social media campaigns and allow those who drive them to more accurately form a picture of their influence and the influencers within their circle of contacts.

This is nothing less than astounding and it makes Google+ a much more compelling proposition in terms of being taken seriously as a marketing channel. Earlier in the year there had been speculation that the adoption of Google’s social media network might be slowing down, with fewer people engaged in it. The steady roll out of functional tools however and the compellingly easy way with which they operate is not just winning over marketers who are eager to take advantage of what Google Plus has to offer but it is also bringing in unique, valuable content which is becoming Google’s social graph.
