The blogging community is like any other community, a collective of individuals working in concert with one another. As a blogger for over eight years, I have seen how our community can come together to help those in need. We here at Technorati are tremendously saddened by the destructive powers of the earthquake in Haiti and want to use our resources to help in whatever way we can.

We will be featuring stories on the ongoing relief effort, as well as, ways we can all help the people of Haiti. Often in instances like this people want to help, but don't know how, and even worse, some people or groups use disasters to take advantage of our instincts to help.

As part of our efforts we will research what organizations are assisting, do our best to verify their reputability, find out what they need and how YOU can help. Keep checking back to this page for updates on how you can be a part of the effort to help those desperately in need.

Unicef- Google is sponsoring with the Unicef to help the children of Haiti whose lives have been affected by the earthquake. Click on the link to donate.

Red Cross - is the key organization being sponsored by the White House in an letter from President Obama. Click on the Red Cross link to donate or text "haiti" to 90999.

Yele Haiti Relief Fund - We highly recommend this organization as it has grassroots right in the heart of Haiti.  Organized by musician (the Fugees) and native Haitian Wyclef Jean to help the people of Haiti, this is a great way to get money right to the people. For more on Yele and Wyclef's efforts, please read our sister site, Blogcritics.org where writer Clayton Perry recently interviewed Wyclef. You may also text “YELE” to 501501 to send $5.
