The topics covered: “truth in advertising” campaign from the FTC (Federal Trade Commission), branding, public relations, and SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Interestingly, The FTC attorney, PR agent, and business owners all have personal blogs within the SITS network.

The conference participants quickly began implementing what they learned. One ran up to her room and turned off "word verification" on her comments. Another download a new statistics tracking tool during a break. Others tweeted information from the speakers and even stood up and asked the speakers questions coming in from Twitter.

This being my first blogging conference, I didn’t know what to expect, however, I walked away with an abundance of blogging and social media information, Twitter names and new blogs to check out.

I also walked away in star-struck awe of Tiffany’s entrepreneurial skills and ability to pull off such a well organized event. SITS other co-founder Heather, was not able to attend as she has a sick child at home. However, after watching Tiffany from afar, I’m sure Heather probably brings a lot of administrative and organizational skills to the table too. Tiffany is definitely a maven, someone who has knowledge of the marketplace, knows how to communicate it, and can’t help herself from sharing it to help others.

The next SITS Bloggy Boot Camps are scheduled for May 1 (Phoenix), August 21 (San Fransisco), September 11 (Philadelphia) and October 23 (Austin).
