Social Media Done Right - Surrounding Susan Nieber with Strength and Love
As I type these words, my heart sits near the pit of my stomach. I silently sob as I read the words written by fellow blogger, Susan Nieber of Toddler Planet:
"A conversation with my husband, shortly after arriving home this afternoon with fresh oxygen tanks, spots on my liver, fluid pushing around my lungs (likely filled with cancer, as are the tumors inside) and at least one broken vertebra that must be healed before we resume any kind of treatment."
Susan is dying. Mother, wife, friend, daughter - Susan has been battling four different forms of cancer over the past five years. I repeat, four different cancers.
But what is simply amazing is the grace, optimism, inspiration and wisdom Susan has shared through it all. With hospice by her side, Susan has embraced and invited her online community of friends, followers and the world to be part of her life, and now her final days.
The blogosphere and her friends are using social tools to let Susan and her family know how grateful they are for her time with us. Using social media for good, they are have created “The most incredible digital card that has ever been made to show Susan just how much she is loved.” This project is called @Whymommy love fest. Organizers are asking people to send photos and inspirational messages to dcmomlove@gmail.com by the end today, January 24, 2012.
If you would like to participate in the @whymommy love fest, please consider doing any of the following:
- send any medium-sized photo(s) you want;
