The incentive give and take strategy is working for many of these brands. They've each massed in some cases millions of likes and followers. That like and follow is powerful as the brand now has the opportunity to engage with a consumer who absolutely is interested in a future purchase. It's a brilliant engagement strategy.
Brands are taking notice. The coupon's are dribbled out in spurts and by differentiating promotions. New product awareness is a revised social game. The excitement of saving money while trying a new product is real.
Social networks are aware of the charm of the coupon, they see analytic results and response just as the brands do. Networks such as Facebook are rolling out something called Offers for Pages. These are essentially coupons and are a step forward for social commerce helping brands to monetize their huge followings.
Predictions for revenue growth of Facebook's IPO are debatable. The revenue predictions for brands using coupons and engage consumers already planning to purchase their brand product are up, that's just a fact.
