Tweet Button Bookmarklet Makes it Easy to Share Links Over Twitter

Since Twitter’s rise to fame, a number of developers and third parties have made it easy to tweet content from blogs, news sites and media outlets.
The most notable of these services is TweetMeme, whose “retweet” button easily plugs in to popular blogging platforms such as Wordpress, TypePad and Blogger, in addition to working with regular websites, email and RSS. Since TweetMeme pretty much covered all the bases, why add another “Twitter button” to the mix?
Fortunately, Twitter went a step beyond making its own “retweet button” (though it has one of those too) and created a bookmarklet instead. This is particularly helpful when you want to tweet about a link that doesn’t have a retweet/Twitter button anywhere in sight. Just click here to get the bookmarklet and drag and drop it to your browser’s Bookmarks bar and you’ll see a “Share on Twitter” button appear. Like the popular retweet buttons, Twitter’s bookmarklet also shortens your URL automatically. It works in all major browsers too.
