The 21st century version of a library has come to the iPad.

Austin, Texas, app developer Manton Reece just opened the electronic doors to Tweet Library. The iPad app archives your own tweets as well as favorite tweets and retweets so that you can review them later.

The app assembles tweets around topics, events, categories—whatever you choose—then publishes them with one click so they can be shared with friends and indexed by Google.

Some of the features of Tweet Library let you:

• Download up to 3,000 of your own tweets so that you’ve got a personal archive on your iPad.
• Filter by date to find old tweets.
• Publish your collections to tweetlibrary.com.
• Create filters to view matching tweets or hide them from your timeline.
• Export your archive, timeline or collections to a text file to store on a Mac or PC.

Reece’s Riverfold Software LLC released the app, which costs $9.99. The app can be downloaded from iTunes.
