Video on Instagram takes on Vine - Page 2
Instagram gives users 13 new filters that were built specifically for videos. This definitely is signature Instagram and will give videos the polished, trademark Instagram look.
Vine does not have any filters.
There are lots of ways to get creative on Instagram. Instagram’s filters and longer video length will certainly flex user behavior. I’m sure this is something existing users will be happy to experiment with.
Vine has a blossoming community of imaginative users who never fail to surprise me. The growing user base has come up with several signature Vine hash tags such as #stopmotion, #loop, #vinemation, etc. No filters, no editing features—but that’s what forces Vine to be a artistic outlet.
I don’t see much competition. Again, both platforms are very different and both will likely continue to flourish in different directions. Sure Video on Instagram allows for plenty of time to shoot a video and fancy it up with a filter, but I’m sure this will only push Vine’s niche user base to come up with some pretty interesting videos these next couple of weeks.
