Who Owns Facebook? New Website Gives the Answer

A Massachusetts company has launched a website that pinpoints who owns stakes in social networking giant Facebook.

On its website WhoOwnsFacebook.com, Massinvestor Inc., a publisher of venture capital directories, identifies all of the stakeholders in the Silicon Valley company – from Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg down to Facebook “enemies” Cameron Winklevoss, Tyler Winklevoss and Divya Narendra.

The site bills itself as the “Definitive Who’s Who Guide to Facebook Wealth.”

Valuations published by WhoOwnsFacebook.com are based on reports of shares in privately held Facebook going for $34 each, amounting to a total valuation of $85 billion.

With a 24 percent stake valued at $20.4 billion, Zuckerberg ranks as Facebook’s biggest shareholder, according to WhoOwnsFacebook.com.

Next on the list is venture capital firm Accel Partners, which controls a 15 percent stake worth $12.75 billion.

According to WhoOwnsFacebook.com, Zuckerberg and Accel are followed by:

1. Former Facebook employee Dustin Moskovitz, 6 percent stake, $5.1 billion value.
2. Russian Internet holding company Digital Sky Technologies, 5 percent stake, $4.25 billion value.
3. Former Facebook employee Eduardo Saverin, 5 percent stake, $4.25 billion value.
4. Former Facebook employee Sean Parker, 4 percent stake, $3.4 billion value.
5. Private investor Peter Thiel, 3 percent stake, $2.55 billion value.
6. Software behemoth Microsoft, 1.6 percent stake, $1.36 billion value.
7. Venture capital firm Greylock Partners, 1.5 percent stake, $1.275 billion value.
8. Venture capital firm Meritech Capital Partners, 1.5 percent stake, $1.275 billion value.
