WordPress Blogging From The Road Gets Easier
If there's one thing I know, it's this: it's a mobile world, oh my bitches. Or at least we're mobile in it. Or something like that. Anyway, the point is that if you're a mobile blogger, it just got hella easier to update your WordPress blog, at least if you've got a Blackberry or Android-based phone.
Last week, WordPress for Android made its 1.0 debut (which has already been followed with version 1.0.1 - a good sign), with the ability to configure and manage multiple blogs, moderate and respond to comments, create and edit pages and posts (duh), and get comment notifications in your Android notification bar.
WordPress for Android works on both wordpress.com and self-hosted blogs. And the cost? Free of course. You can download it right now from the Android Market; just search on "wordpress" and download the app published by Automattic, Inc. Or, if you have a barcode scanner on your device, you can go to the WordPress download page and scan the URL in from your display. Which is really cool.
As for you Crackberry users, your version of WordPress gives you the same goodies as the Android version, and it adds the ability to record and upload video from your phone. It's a 1.0 release as well, it's also free, and it's available here.
Now when you see that fat dude split his pants, you don't have to wait until you get home to blog about it. Ah, technology.
