Social Media review site Yelp has been hit with a class action lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles federal court.  The suit charges that the company attempts to extort money from companies that wish to have bad reviews removed.

The lawsuit alleges that after requesting a bad review be removed, a veterinary hospital in Long Beach was contacted repeatedly by Yelp sales reps who requested a payment of $300 per month in order to keep negative feedback hidden.

No word yet on if additional payment to Yelp! will keep the garbage picked up on time and prevent mysterious fires from breaking out.
