Google has announced the release of an upgraded version of the Android YouTube app that will give users easier discovery of TV content and better  streaming to TV.

The app includes “Discover,” which will filter YouTube channels by categories including science, gaming, comedy, cooking and others. Users will also have access to playlists and individual's videos. There's also a “From TV” option that gives users access to broadcasted channels.

Users will be able to subscribe to channels with a single click. They can also scroll through different related videos and other videos uploaded by the same user while pressing up or down arrows through remote control.

“Once you’ve found a great video, continue to use the up and down arrows on your remote to find the Info screen where you can give the video a thumbs up, add it to one of your YouTube playlists, or leave a comment for the YouTube community.”

Users can download the app free from the Android Market on Google TV 2.0 boxes.
