So it looks like Gilbert Arenas is really going through with his whole "I'm done talking to the media" thing. The blog is gone, the jokes are gone ... now all we have is the hilarious awkwardness above.

But on the other hand, his performance has been great so far, and bloggers are not convinced it's a bad thing that Gil is doing less talking off the court.

Truth About It:"There’s a reason to get excited about NBA basketball in DC. So far, Gilbert Arenas has been curbing his own enthusiasm. But who cares if he’s not ‘Gil The Entertainer’ anymore. What matters is that he’s happy on the court and leading his team to victory."

Wizards Extreme: "After all if we are going to talk about success, there is no athlete in DC that is playing right now that has elevated their team to higher success than Gilbert has with the Wizards with the exception of Alex Ovechkin and he is considered by most as the greatest player in his sport right now. The city is on Gilbert’s shoulders but we should make it a little easier and give him the support until he proves he can’t do it. Let’s give him the chance to prove once again that."

Gilbertology: "Gilbert Arenas doesn’t seem to want to talk to the media but is forced to or face fines from the NBA. On Friday, Arenas tried to explain why he would rather focus on basketball rather than anything off the court. Some quotes: “The fans, I just think they just want to see me play again. I think they can live without me rambling on about stupid stuff in my life”"

FanHouse: "Gil giving boring answers is only a story once. At some point, if Arenas can hold on to his pose, the reporters will just ignore him. Time is money, and the beat writers of the NBA can't waste precious minutes trying to crack a stubborn star."

Bleacher Report: "First he loved the attention; now he hates it. For those media fools who have tried to make Gilbert Arenas out to be more than a funny Valentine for quotes and sound bytes, the best advice is to love him and leave him alone."
