Charice Pempengco, Tyrese and Jamie Foxx Sing National Anthem
The Manny Pacquiao vs Shane Mosely fight kicked off with the wonderful voices of Hollywood singers Charice Pempengco, Tyrese and Jamie Foxx.
Charice Pempengco, born and raised in the Philippines is now an internationally recognized Hollywood singer and actress appearing on television series GLEE with hundreds of her records sold worldwide.
Many local song critics in the Philippines are usually dissatisfied with the many Filipino artists that have sung the Philippine National anthem saying that they sang the national song in slow tempo, when it should be at a "marching" fast-paced beat. Charice had this in mind and she sang the song properly in the right tempo and in perfect tone.
Tyrese, an R&B singer, actor, model and former MTV VJ just recently appeared in his latest movie "Fast 5". Tyrese sang the American National Anthem.
Jamie Foxx an American actor, singer-songwriter, stand-up comedian and talk show host sang "America the Beautiful."
LL Cool J did an intermission number before the games began. This was also "Sugar" Shane Mosley's entrance song to the ring.
Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao usually uses Survivor's song "Eye of the Tiger" as his entrance song. This time, lead singer of Survivor Jimi Jamison sang the song live while Manny Pacquiao enters the ring.
Truly indeed, Manny Pacquiao wore a yellow shirt, and yellow gloves as his promise of fighting poverty on this game. Read more about the Manny fighting two opponents here.
