CR7 Sets New La Liga Scoring Record

Real Madrid's midfielder, Cristiano Ronaldo set a new La Liga Primera single-season record and El Pichichi title with his 39th and 40th of the campaign for Real Madird against Almeria.
Ronaldo notched his first after in fourth minute and his second on 77th as Real thumped their already-relegated opponents (Almeria)
His double meant he moved two clear of the previous record, which he jointly held with Real's Legend -Hugo Sanchez- and Telmo Zarra (Athletic Bilbao's striker)
Previously, Hugo Sanchez scored 38 in the 1989/90 season and Telmo Zarra also scored 38 in the 1959/60.
Ronaldo -who had scored nine goals in his previous three games heading into the final fixture- has netted 40 goals in La Liga Primera for Madrid in this season.
"To score so many goals in a season is very hard. I have to thank my team-mates," Ronaldo said as qoted from BBC Sport. "The record is for them and the fans too.
Now, Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona's Striker -Lionel Messi- are the first Spanish league players to score at least 50 goals in all competitions in one season.
