Daytona 500 Red-Flagged for Major Fire

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. — NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya lost control of his car on a caution lap and collided with a jet dryer near the top of the speedway in turn three. The safety truck immediately exploded in flame as the Montoya car slid down the raceway into the infield.

Fire crews were quickly on the scene dousing the speedway trying to extinguish the fire. Track officials are inspecting the track and the safety barriers to determine the affects of the intese fire on the asphalt and the facility.
