Germany vs. Greece: More Than Just a Game
June 22 in Poland at Euro 2012 will be held a quarter-final game between Germany and Greece. This match is already called something more than just a sport. It's no secret that between these two countries has inflamed the thoroughgoing struggle on the economic and political issues.
A sensational and deserved spot of Greece in the next round of the European football championship inspired confidence in the descendants of ancient Hellas. Greece finally will meet face to face with its main opponent.
Yes, Greece has a deep crisis. But Germany and its Chancellor, in its imperial policy of imposing their opinions to everyone and everywhere in EU, do not understand one thing - Greece is not the Eastern Europe, where you can easily give orders. Freedom is in the blood of Greeks and still nobody has been able to impose its decisions to this country.
Even the Roman Empire, which held Greek cities for a very long time, didn’t impose its way of life. Quite the contrary - in Rome, the Greek language and culture were no less common than Latin. Greek culture influenced much to Romans. That’s how European civilization was formed, which is now undergoing a serious crisis. In many ways, this crisis is due to the persistent imposing views of financial elites of several countries.
Chancellor Angela Merkel does not even makes a more detailed study of other ways to solve "the Greek question." But there is a very good offer of French President Francois Hollande. In addition, there is a largely positive experience of the United States. But no, Germany is behaving as if its decisions are not negotiable and all are obliged to follow them. Sorry, but this is very far from the democracy. Incidentally, when the ancient Greeks already had the democracy, the German state was not yet exist, even in the long term.
