Is it Fitting that the Lombardi Trophy Goes Home on the Verge of a NFL Lockout?

The Green Bay Packers are your NFL Super Bowl champions. The Vince Lombardi trophy is headed home to Green Bay, Wisconsin where all the cheeseheads in the world says it belongs.
The Pack hit their stride midway through the season and faced an incredible uphill battle throughout the playoffs, eventually heading into the big game as the favorite.
Despite the win and the confetti shower, is it fitting that the Lombardi trophy heads to the City that Vince Built as the NFL is on the verge of a lockout? Will there even be a Super Bowl next year? (Some who hate the cold might say skip it because it's slated for New York.)
The current agreement between the NFL and the NFLPA ends March 4th. Yesterday, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees were among other NFL players who attended a negotiating session between the league and players' union Saturday, according to ESPN.
There is really no indication as to how the meeting went or what the players might have brought to the table. However, league commissioner was positive about the meeting.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the two-hour meeting with the players' union was "beneficial."
"It's always a positive when both parties are talking," Goodell told ESPN.
"My focus is on the next three or four weeks," Goodell told ESPN. "I've often said, our agreement expires on March 4th. We have to use that period of time to reach an agreement that's fair for the players, fair for the clubs, and allows our great game to grow for our fans."
Let's hope that Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews have an opportunity to defend their Super Bowl title.
