Jamal Mashburn Confirms His Return To Call Wildcats vs. Dragons
The rumors have been circulating around the blogosphere and now they have been validated and confirmed on the official website of Jamal Mashburn. The NBA All-Star will be returning to Rupp Arena to call the game between University of Kentucky Wildcats versus the Drexel Dragons on Monday, December 21, 2009.
Here is the update from Mashburn:
"Wishing peace and much love to the UK family, I am indeed coming home to call what could be the historic 2000th win for the UK Wildcats on ESPNU. It seems appropriate to do so. This is the beauty, and excitement of UK basketball. I can come back as an alumni, fan, and broadcaster to the place that started it all for me. Oddly, it feels like only yesterday I was playing for the die-hards of the Blue and White. In a place where there is a new era in coaching, it can only be surpassed by the culture and environment provided by the support of winners, the fans of UK basketball. I’ll stop here an expect to see UK “fandemonium” on Monday night. FANDEMONIUM!!!!!!!"
If the Wildcats win this game, it will be a 2000th win milestone for them. Jimmy Dykes, ESPN basketball analyst, will be joining Mashburn for the game.
