Jeff Skinner Did What?
To anyone who has been following my articles, sorry I haven't entered a new post in a while. This was my first week back from spring break and my baseball season just started so i've been kind of slowed down. Every opportunity I get I will try to get a new post in.
Anyways, I recently found out an interesting tidbit of information. Jeff Skinner, of the Carolina Hurricanes, was a figure skater almost into his early teens. He actually won bronze in the juvenile division at the 2004 Canadian Junior National Figure Skating Championships.

It makes some sense to me. Figure skating does work on your edges and balance. Many of the same skills that are intensely focused on in hockey skating camps can be learned through figure skating. Even though some of Jeff's teammates still poke fun at him it's all in good fun.
Considering where hes at right now though he probably doesn't care. He is one of the youngest in the NHL at only 18. He also made the All-Star game this year. He is becoming an undeniable forceand soon people will know him more for his stats and less for his childhood activities.
I just felt like thowing this out there as an interesting fact for everyone. Next time your going to chirp at a figure skater remember not all of them turn out too bad.
