Los Angeles Dodgers Pitcher Vicente Padilla Shoots Himself in the leg While Hunting
Plaxico Burress has some company in the 'athletes who have accidentally shot themselves in the leg' club.
Vicente Padilla, who pitched for the Dodgers and Rangers last season, was in Venezuela hunting when he accidentally discharged his gun and grazed his leg.
(Padilla's agent Adam) Katz described the incident as a "hunting accident," saying that Padilla was grazed in his right thigh by a bullet. Katz said that Padilla spent 30 to 40 minutes at a hospital and was discharged.
"He's fine," Katz said.
Well that's a relief. Padilla is going to be a free agent, so hopefully this doesn't drive his value down too much.
First swine flu, now this ... it hasn't been a good year for Padilla.
