McLaren's Lewis Hamilton Wins Inaugural U.S. Grand Prix 2012

Austin, Texas; November 18, 2012:
McLaren-Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton wins the 2012 United States Grand Prix race at Circuit of the Americas, Austin, Texas. It was the first F1 race in United States since 2007.
German driver Sebastian Vettel once again failed to seal first place in the Drivers' Championship rankings, meaning the battle for "2012 World Drivers Championship" will continue at the 72 lap Brazilian Grand Prix, the final race of the calendar year, due to be held in São Paulo, Brazil on the 25th of November.
Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso who will battle with Vettel for the "World Drivers Championship" managed to secure a place at the podium, finishing third in the race and gaining 15 points and thus keeping himself alive for the prestigious title.
Sebastian Vettel kicked off the race at pole position and leaded for 41 laps until Hamilton surpassed him. Hamilton finished only 0.675 seconds ahead of Vettel.
After the win Hamilton said on his team’s radio, "That was amazing guys, that was wicked. You did a great job all weekend. Thanks guys, we definitely do deserved that one."
