Miami Heat Win Pivotal Game 3 of NBA Finals
The Miami Heat came out like they had something to prove in game 3 of the NBA Finals. After the melt down that the Miami Heat had in game 2, maybe they did have something to prove. Dwayne Wade certainly played like he had a chip on his shoulder scoring 19 points in the first half. Despite a brief run by the Dallas Mavericks at the end of the second quarter, the Miami Heat still managed to hold onto a 47 to 42 led going into the second half.
The Heat managed to hold onto the lead throughout the second half leading by six points with under 4 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. The Dallas Mavericks battled back however, tying the game up at 84 points with a little over 2 minutes to go in the game. All of a sudden, it looked like Miami might start falling apart again late in the 4th quarter.
With less than 5 seconds on the clock, the Dallas Mavericks got possession of the ball with a chance to tie or win with a three pointer. Dirk Nowitzki got the ball for the last shot but he could not convert this time. The Miami Heat avoided the 4th quarter melt down and hold on to win 88 to 86. This was a crucial win for the Miami Heat as they now take back control of the series leading 2 games to 1. Game 4 will be a must win for the Dallas Mavericks at home.
