NASCAR Champion's Week - Vegas
LAS VEGAS-- After arguably the biggest and best season of modern day NASCAR, the circle track gang rolls into Vegas to celebrate excellence.
At the top of the heap, Tony Stewart, Sprint Cup driver and car owner, still strutting his go-fast and turn-left stuff as the big dog of Sprint Cup. The three time champion talks about bringing the celebration to "The Marriage Capital of the World."
"There's so much to do here in Las Vegas," Stewart said. "It's the perfect place to have the year-end celebration. I look forward to having everyone from the Stewart-Haas Racing team, Office Depot and Mobil 1 here on Thursday night and spending some time with them."
In the city that never sleeps nobody will be busier than Stewart on the lead up to Friday night's ceremony. The Champion arrived on Tuesday for a whirlwind of activity that includes photo shoots around the city, pool parties with sponsors and crew, and a stint on NASCAR live with MRN's Eli Gold.
The NASCAR awards show begins Friday evening at 7:00 pm, Eastern time, with the awards for the Nationwide and Camping World Trucks division champions, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., 24, and Austin Dillon, 21, respectively. At 9:00 pm, Eastern, Tony Stewart and his Sprint Cup peers take the banquet hall to celebrate their season. Reba McEntire hosts the show with a performance by Kid Rock.
Speed TV will televise the NASCAR champions banquet from Wynn's Las Vegas beginning at 7:00 pm Eastern time.
