Omar Vizquel, Still Playing Baseball
At the tender age of 42, shortstop Omar Vizquel will play at least one more season of baseball, signing with the Chicago White Sox.
The team, which, including Vizquel, has had four prominent Venezuelan shortstops, including current manager Ozzie Guillen, will most likely use Vizquel as a backup, as he was last season in Texas.
While Vizquel and Guillen to share a home country, the two men are a bit different in their baseball personas. And by a "bit different," I mean polar opposites.
Guillen is a loud-mouth who makes it know that he makes moves based on gut-decisions. Vizquel has a reputation as a nice guy, and has a more analytical approach to the game. Guillen is also only three years older than Vizquel. Should be an interesting dynamic between the two this season.
