Patrick to run Daytona 500 in 2012
FORT WORTH - Driver Danica Patrick and car owner Tony Stewart gathered in front of media Friday afternoon to announce their Sprint Cup plans for 2012.
Coming off a big win at Martinsville and in solid contention for the Sprint Cup crown, Stewart is excited about his future racing collaboration with Danica.
The conference lauched right into Tony's announcement of the Danic's Sprint Cup schedule for 2012. The big question answered first - Danica Patrick will run the Daytona 500 in February. From there she will run at Darlington and then be off the Sprint circuit until the night race at Bristol. From there she will be racing late in the year at Atlanta, Chicago, DOver, Texas, and Phoenix. There are also two open dates yet to be defined by Stewart-Haas as the 2012 season unfolds.
Danica will be driving the #10 Stewart Hass/Go Daddy Impala.

On Saturday, Danica will be paying tribute to Indy Driver Dan Wheldon who lost in life in a horrifc crash at Vegas a few weeks back. Her Nationwide car has the Dan Wheldon, "Lionheart" banner painted onto the hood. The helmet she will wear this weekend has a Wheldon tribute scheme and will be auctioned off in the near future to benefit the Dan Wheldon Foundation.
