Francois HougaardSpringbok supporters will feel disappointed after a less than attractive year for the team, but this should not be the only view as a new era is dawning upon the Springboks. The player ranks have seldom been this well stocked and the future looks bright. Let's have a look at available players for positions in the team:

Props:

Coenie Oosthuizen - Coming through the ranks and being developed currently as a tighthead prop which South Africa are in dire need of.

Beast Mtawarira - Still young enough to give the Springboks a good few years and an asset to any team.

Dean Greyling - Seems to have immense talent and with the right coach could become a world-class prop.

Steven Kitshoff - Hiding in the ranks at the Stormers this youngster will be monstering scrums in the near future.

Hookers:

Bismarck du Plessis - Far from done with Springbok rugby and a thorn in every other teams side.

Kyle Cooper - Making the odd appearance for the Sharks this abrasive hooker's play has immense similarity to that of Bismarck.

Edgar Maratlulle - He might be small but brings explosive, exciting play to the lions and manages the odd steal here and there.

Locks:

Andries Bekker - Tall, fast, skillful and the perfect replacement for the retiring Victor Matfield.

Jean Deysel - Yes this is debatable, but Jean Deysel has been performing week in and out in the lock position and although short, he will bring the much-needed physicality that we lose in Bakkies Botha.

Flip van der Merwe - A clear talent but has yet to learn to keep the brain explosions out of the game.

Loosies:

Heinrich Brussow - Most teams will be irritated by the fact that he will be around for a long time. World class fetcher.

Willem Alberts - With Juan Smith injury prone, Willem fits the bill for the perfect replacement.
