New York; September 10, 2012:
American tennis star Serena Williams won the 2012 US Open title by defeating #1 ranked Victoria Azarenka of Belarus by 6–2, 2–6, 7–5. This was the fourth US Open Title and 15th Grand Slam single Title win for Serena Williams. The match took 2 hours and 18 minutes to result.

It was for the first time since 1995, that the crowd witnessed the US Open women's single final going upto three sets. In the 1995 US Open Steffi Graf(Germany) defeated Monica Seles(United States) by 7-6(6), 0-6, 6-3 to win the title.

After the match Serena Said, "I still can't believe that I have won. I Had by Runner Up speech prepared because I thought, 'Man, she's playing so great.' Further she said, "I'm still shocked."

Expressing her thoughts Azarenka said, "Serena deserves to be the winner, She showed how true a champion she is, I definitely gave up my 100% today and while stepping out of this court today, I will have no regrets whatsoever."

Earlier Serena completely dominated the first set winning by 6-2 and it seemed liked she will finish the match within 2 sets. But Azarenka made a comeback following the errors made by Serena and won the set 6-2. And in the final deciding set Azarenka shocked the fans by leading the set 5-3 and in the next game she tied 30-30 with Serena and was just two points away from the glory. But Serena turned the tides and won back to back sets and 'snatched the match' away from Azarenka.

Let's look at the Major wins for Serena Williams in the singles tournaments:
