Team USA Grabs Early Lead at Ryder Cup

The Americans captured the Fourball session to give Team USA the lead 2.5 to the Europeans 1.5.  

The team of Tiger Woods/Steve Stricker won 2Up over Europeans Ian Poulter/Ross Fisher.  The other American team to win was the young excited group, Bubba Watson & Jeff Overton.  They won their match 3&2 over favorites Luke Donald & Padraig Harrington.  

The European team's only win came from the team of Lee Westwood and Martin  Kaymer when the won 3&2 over Phil Mickelson & Dustin Johnson.  The half point was earned by Americans Stewart Cink/Matt Kucher and their European counterparts, Rory McIlroy & Graeme McDowell.

The Ryder Cup is underway on Saturday as all players will compete in the final events to try and finish the Ryder Cup by Sunday.  Session 2, the Foursomes is live right now while the Foursome & Fourballs will tee off later today.  You can follow the live scoring here at the Ryder Cup website.
