The 2011 Journal News Golf Show Review
When it rains it pours and right now in the Northeast it's raining golf shows. After spending last weekend in Boston for the National Golf Expo, I was able to stay local and head to White Plains, New York, for the Journal News Golf Show.

While this golf show was considerably smaller than the show in Boston, it allowed me the opportunity to spend more time talking with people about their product or business. I counted four rows that were the length of a basketball court and for the most part everyone was local or within a few hours of Westchester County, New York.
Five Favorites from the 2011 Journal News Golf Show
5. Crystal Springs Resort: Located just over an hour from New York City in Hamburg, New Jersey, this resort features seven golf courses. The marquis course is Ballyowen Golf Club which was voted one of the Top 50 Public Courses in the US by Golf World Magazine and sits across 250 acres. A golf resort of this magnitude is not common in the northeast which is why it caught my eye. I'm looking forward to playing here this season.
4. Golf-Art.com: Golf-Art.com has a gallery located in Ridgefield, Connecticut and owner Skip Rooney was on hand at the booth. The gallery features offers a variety of golf paintings, pictures, and other golf memorabilia available for individual purchase or to help you with you with your golf outing. A video on their home page gives great details about the shop and I'm looking forward to visiting it myself.
3. Pound Ridge Golf Club: A Pete Dye course located just outside of New York City? No sales pitch was required for me to put this on the top of my list. Pound Ridge Golf Club has been talked about since opening in 2008 and continues to be on the list of places to play in the New York City area. Having never played here before I'm looking forward to it but before you hop in your car and head over, be sure to check the price.
