Team President Mark Shapiro (@MarkShapiro), General Manager Chris Antonetti (@IndiansGM), Team Manager Manny Acta (@mactriber_11). The team’s radio staff has a twitter account (@IndiansRadio) and a handful of Indians players are also on Twitter, most notably Shelley Duncan (@shelldunc), Trevor Crowe (@tcrowe4) and Matt LaPorta (@Gator4God).
With the ever growing stages of technology that lies right on our fingertips, it is no wonder why the Cleveland Indians organization decided to jump on this fast moving train.
Social media applications are the fastest most direct link you can have between a team and their fans not to mention customers and suppliers. More teams and businesses can learn a lot from the Indians front office and what they are trying to achieve here. The club may not be selling products directly through Twitter and Facebook but what they are selling is a relationship with their fans which in the long run will help their bottom line.
