Future MLB Stars - A Sports Agent's Inside Perspective
As we get closer to the September expansion of MLB rosters, let’s take a look at who some of the best young prospects are in the minor leagues. There are many talented players who have cultivated by their parents organizations and are going to be future stars.
Let’s start with the position players:

Aaron Bates Minnesota Twins (AAA) 1B
The North Carolina State product is very solid in the field and a very good hitter. He has an overall batting average in the minors of over .300. The only knock on Bates is that he can be a little inconsistent at the plate. Last season, for example, was definitely an off year for Bates. Look for him to get a September call-up to the show.
Domonic Brown Philadelphia Phillies (AAA) OF
Brown has long been considered the best position player prospect in the Phillies’ organization. He is extremely athletic and can do a number of things both offensively and defensively. His speed is a tremendous asset and if he can demonstrate consistency, Brown will give the Phillies yet another weapon in the future.
Zack Cozart Cincinnati Reds (AAA) SS
Cozart is enjoying his best season as a pro since leaving the University of Mississippi. He is currently hitting .310 in AAA and possesses the glove needed to play in the Majors. If Cozart can continue to develop and high big league pitching, he should have a long career in the Reds’ infield.
Jordan Parraz New York Yankees (AAA) RF
Parraz is a very capable hitter. Historically his batting average he hovered near or above .300 in each of his professional seasons. Parraz is also a solid fielder and shows enough range to cover ground in big league parks. Look for Parraz to become the every-day right fielder as soon as the 2012 season.
