Manny Sours Another Team; Now Headed to Chicago
Manny Ramirez, the 12-time All-Star, is headed out of La La Land (Dodger Country) and headed to Chi-Town. He'll be wearing Sox again, but in this case, it'll be White Sox.
Man-ram will be joining the team in Cleveland this week, according to ESPN. The Sox will also be responsible for the remaining $3.825 million of Ramirez's contract this season.
On the surface, this looks like any year-end, veteran dump from one team headed nowhere to a decent team with fall baseball dreams.
The real story here is that Manny poisoned yet another team. I speak from experience as a die hard Red Sox fan, a team once led by the cartoon character better known as Manny Ramirez.
His departure from the Red Sox was big news. His arrival in Dodgerland was still big news in Boston. Now, his departure from LA really doesn't register because we're past his antics. We're past all the bullshit that comes with his enormous homeruns and idiotic playing style. (Remember the time he disappeared into the Green Monster during a game, only to reappear right before the start of the inning?)
All I'm saying is that, despite a great career from the plate, the guy is crazier than a shithouse rat. He's more headaches than run production these days.
You think his disabled list stint on the Dodgers was due to a real injury? I doubt it, only because we've seen that crap before in Boston. That's why he got shipped out. He doesn't want to be controlled and wants to do things his way, which in most cases, is the Manny way — thus spawned the saying, Manny Being Manny.
Now he'll just be doing it for the White Sox.
