A local Boston media outlet is reporting that the drama surrounding the Red Sox search for a new manager is over, with all points leading towards Bobby Valentine.

According to Mike Lynch of WCVB-TV, a Boston ABC affiliate, the Sox and Valentine have reached a verbal agreement.

The statement, made via Twitter:

"Red Sox and Bobby Valentine have reached a verbal agreement for him to be the next Sox manager."

While there hasn't been any official statements made by the Sox or Valentine, media reports have been stating that Valentine was the front runner after Chicago swooped in and landed Dale Sveum.

During his visit, Valentine had nothing but great things to say about the Sox and the opportunity that could be his, if awarded the job:

The other name thrown around has been Gene Lamont
