Albert Haynesworth Suspended For Rest of Season
Apparently the rift between Mike Shanahan and Albert Haynesworth has culminated to a boiling point.
Haynesworth, the embattled defensive tackle, has been suspended for the final four games of the regular season for conduct detrimental to the team. The result of this after he was inactive for Sunday's game at the New York Giants, and after Haynesworth told general manager Bruce Allen that he did not want to talk to Shanahan on Tuesday. Allen informed Haynesworth of the suspension Tuesday.
In a statement released to the Associated Press, Mike Shanahan stated that Haynesworth “repeatedly refused to cooperate with our coaching staff in a variety of ways over an extended period of time.”
He also stated that Haynesworth “consistently indicated” to defensive coaches that he wouldn’t play in certain defensive packages and refused to follow coaches’ instructions in practice and during games.
