Here We Shanahan Again

Mike Shanahan, coach of the Washington Redskins, has just sent the running back depth chart into upheaval.

This is not good news for fantasy football players who have Tim Hightower starting on their squads.

If Tim is on your team you might want to add his name to your weekly round of trade talks this week. Coach Shanahan has an uncanny knack to make an unlikely running back a star and then rotate backs at will.

This year, Tim Hightower has started off the year with decent fantasy football numbers. Hightower snagged the bulk of the carries and peppered in a few receptions as well. He was the Redskins undisputed starter for the first 3 weeks of the season.

Shanahan also sprinkled in a few plays for rookie running back, Roy Helu throughout the first few games. However, in week 4 running back Ryan Torain touched the ball for the very first time this season and set the turf on fire with 135 yards rushing, including a touchdown.

Shanahan has history with Torain from his days back with the Denver Bronocs. Torain has done well in the past, but it is usually only a matter of time before the injury bug takes a hammer and shatters Torain’s brittle body.

If you have a Redskin running back on your squad or you are looking to pick up Torain off the waiver wire, please stock up on medication because you will be in for some headaches caused from setting your lineups in the future. Good luck out there fantasy footballers.
