Liverpool Beats Manchester United 3-1 Behind Dirk Kuyt's Trio

League leaders Manchester United suffered their second consecutive loss in the Premier League with a 3-1 away loss from bitter rivals Liverpool.

Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt made his first-ever hat trick wearing the Reds' colors, his third and the most important one coming in the 65th minute, the goal that finally broke down Sir Alex Fergusson’s side.

Liverpool’s defeat of United gave second place Arsenal another chance of Premiership leaderboard despite the Gunners' 0-0 result with Sunderland Saturday at the Emirates.

Luis Suarez brillaint all-around performance gave Kenny Dalglish’s side a boost in a game where Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard played in the game in spite of sustaining a groin injury sustained during Saturday's team training.

The Red's £35 million striker Andy Carroll finally made his debut in the 74th minute substituting in Raul Meireles.

Kuyt scored scored two goals in five-minute frenzy just before halftime with his third coming in 20 minutes into the second half. Javier Hernandez scored a header in the 93rd minute to give United their consolation goal for the afternoon.
