This weekend, the only four teams left in the NFL will do battle for the right to play for the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy aka the Superbowl.

In the NFC, the streaking New York Giants face off against a tough, defensive oriented San Francisco 49er team that is quickly becoming the darling pick to win it all.

In the AFC, the Baltimore Ravens head to New England to face off against a refocused Tom Brady. New England has lost the last few playoff games at home and don't want to make it a fourth.

The pundits picks would want the Patriots to face off against the Giants in a 2007 rematch. However, one can't discount the Ravens and the 49ers — two teams that live off of turnovers and stripping the ball to cause fumbles.

The NFL would like Patriots and the Giants because of 2007.  Also, the hype would be pretty intense for the two weeks leading up to the Superbowl.

However, discounting the Ravens and the 49ers is a mistake. Both teams are scrappers. Both teams are led by quarterbacks that have had shadows of doubt following them their entire career.

One thing is for certain: the NFL Playoffs are exciting and unexpected. But, as the saying goes, that's why they play the games.
