NFL Picks Week 13
Welcome to the weekly NFL Picks post by DrD, where each week we discuss who will win and why. The opinions expressed are from knowledgeable followers of the sport, who research all facets of the match-ups. Their names are changed to protect their privacy and to add a touch of humor to the predictions.
“Read my lips …”
Vinnie the Mooch reports that Bobby-Big-Fingers went to a pick-up basketball game in DC with some VIPs last week. “He elbowed one dude in the mouth, and the guy needed stitches in his lip.” The Mooch won’t say who the VIP was, but …
Meanwhile, this week some NFL VIPs need TLC ASAP.

At EAGLES 7 1/2 Texans
Vinnie the Mooch says, “I went to a fist fight last week, and a football game broke out.” He’s referring, of course, to the fight between Houston’s WR Andre Johnson and Tennessee’s CB Cortland Finnegan. Let’s see if Johnson avoids a fight versus the Eagles. Michael Vick threw his first interception of the season last week, and was sacked 4 times. “But the Texans is next-to-last in pass defense in the NFL,” says the Mooch. Taking the Eagles to cover.
At GIANTS 6 Redskins
Frankie Nuts reports, “The Giants is still not gonna have receivers Nicks or Smith back, but that won‘t matter - the Skins is giving up 400 yards a game and, by the way, they hasn’t beaten the Giants since 2007.” Also, the Giants are 5-1-1 against the spread versus the Redskins over the last several years, 3-1-1 at home. Taking the Giants to cover.
At VIKINGS 6½ Bills
Okay, so Steve Johnson was a drama queen about dropping the ball in the end zone last week, but wouldn’t we rather see that reaction than some clown laughing as he’s losing. The Bills are giving up 164 yards on the ground, so look for Adrian Peterson and other Vike backs to have a big game. But is that enough for the win? Sallie Boy reports, “The Bills is 4-1 against the spread as an away dog, and 3 of their last 4 losses has been in OT and all 4 has been by 3 points each time.” Taking the Vikes to win, but not cover.
At DOLPHINS 4 Browns
Colt McCoy still not a “go” for Sunday. At this point, Jake Delhomme is expected to start again for the Browns, and it’ll be Chad Henne for the fish. Meanwhile, the Dolphins hope to get back WR Brandon Marshall. Both teams are coming off a win. Cheech says, “The Dolphins is a better defensive team - ranked 6th in the league - and that‘ll make the difference.” Taking the Dolphins to cover.
