NFL Picks Week 9 - Page 5
Dallas at Green Bay (-8)
Oh, where are Roger Staubach or Emmit Smith when you need them? Or Don Meredith or Tony Dorsett or Michael Irvin? Or Bob Lilly or Ed “Too Tall” Jones? This Dallas team of 2010 sure could use the past Cowboys’ greats. “They is a disgrace,” says Frankie Nuts. With only one win in 7 games, the highly touted Cowboys now march into the frozen tundra of Green Bay to play the NFC North-leading Packers, giddy after a 9-0 shutout of the Jets. Dallas will try not to lose its 5th in a row. What a difference a year makes – both of these teams were 11-5 last year. Dallas QB John Kitna can only hope that he can connect with WR Dez Bryant and others against a Packer defense with 24 sacks and 12 picks. WR Donald Driver will be out for the Pack but QB Rodgers will still have current BFF Greg Jennings. Nuts reports that “The Boys is 1-6 against the spread.” Taking the Pack to cover.
Pittsburgh (-3.5) at Cincinnati
Monday night card game and all present. Vinnie the Mooch reports that “The Bengals has lost 4 in a row.” Frankie Nuts adds, “And they is 2-5 against the spread on the year.”
“But they beat the Steelers both times they met last year,” says Cheech.
“Pittsburgh’s coming in off a loss to the Saints last week,” says Bobby-Big-Fingers.
“The stats said they shoulda won that game.” “Here’s a stat for you,” says Sallie Boy, “Roethlisberger is 6-1 at Cincinnati.” “Got an even better one,” says Benny Bagels, “in Pittsbugh’s last 5 Monday night games, they is 5-0.”
Taking Pittsburgh to cover.
