The Chase Is Back On
The title chase for the Premiership is back on! After this weekends' results, Chelsea is only three points behind Man Utd and have the same goal difference. This weekend they face each other at Old Trafford with each team knowing what is at stake.
Back in February, Chelsea were 15 points behind Man Utd and looking to be out of the race to retain the Premiership title. Now,after a fantastic run of form they are so close to upsetting the odds and retaining their status as champions.
On Saturday Chelsea took on Spurs at the Bridge and with a lot of help from dodgy decisions by the officials secured a 2-1 victory over their neighbors. Lampards shot that Spurs keeper Gomes split was definitely not over the line and the linesman, who was hopelessly placed, gave it as a goal to the fury of Redknapp, the Spurs players and fans alike. Their winning goal was scored by Kalou who was in an offside position when the ball came to him, but yet again the officials got the decision wrong. This season we have seen some serious errors from the men in charge and I think now is the time for football to use television technology to help the officials with their decisions. I know that the game is fast paced and decisions have to be made on the spot and I am not blaming the officials directly but can we not use this technology to help them?
Man Utd had to wait until Sunday to play their game against no-hopers Arsenal at the Emirates but miracle of miracles,Arsenal actually won a game by beating Man Utd 1-0 with a superb goal from Aaron Ramsey. Was the pressure for Man Utd too much? Were they thinking about their upcoming Champions league semi-final against Schalke? Were Arsenal too strong for them? Whatever the answer may be it has opened up the title race for what will hopefully be a fantastic finish to another wonderful season in the Premiership.
