    Chrysler's $2.99 Gas Guarantee

    http://advertising-age.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ chryslers-299-gas-guarantee.html

People want to buy products that say smart things about them - but how can American car manufacturers address that need when the price of a company's stock, like General Motors, sells for less than $10 a share?

Toyota Corporate Blog Urges You To Buy A Toyota, Then Ride Your Bike [I Feel Gassy]

Toyota is taking an unusual step on their Open Road corporate blog by promoting the idea of driving less. At first glance, this would seem oxymoronic, but Toyota is careful not to say "don't buy a Tundra." They're just saying that once you do buy a Tundra, you should leave it parked in your driveway for special occasions and hoof it everywhere else.

Chrysler: Take our fuel, please! $2.99 gas extended through July 31st

    http://auto.cooone.com/ chrysler-take-our-fuel-please-299-gas-extended-through-j…

Sales of Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehciles are down a scary 36 percent year over year, which means even the somewhat interesting marketing gimmick of the $2.99 gas guarantee isn’t working very well. Unfortunately, gas for just under $3 is all Chrysler, LLC had up its sleeve this summer, as the Pentastar has extended the deal through July 31.

Chrysler’s $2.99 gas guarantee: A look inside the All-American gimmick

    http://www.ecracreative.com/ blog/ ?p=133

Author: Jason Voiovich Ecra Creative Group You can’t blame Chrysler for trying. Arguably the sickest of the American big three automakers, and the one least well-positioned to compete in a fuel-efficient vehicle future, executives have whipped out the old-fashioned sales promotion to pull attention away from the unpleasant truth.

Cheap gas not enough to drive sales, desirable cars needed too!

Chrysler is apparently learning the hard way that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drive out in a new Sebring. The $2.99 per gallon gas price guarantee that Chrysler launched last month has apparently been insufficient to actually stimulate sales.
