Great post from Dean Shareski - I’ll let him explainn his own blog when you follow the link. I love real live music….of any kind…I just happen to enjoy people making music for real, whether it’s a street busker or a two-bit band in a pub or a headline act in a big venue.

I was in Moose Jaw yesterday for the Scotland meets Saskatchewan learning party that Dean arranged. After some fabulous discussion and serious gaming led by Ewan McIntosh, I ambushed Ewan with my microphone and forced him to sit down for some good discussion over a pint (or two) with the EdTech Posse.

Ewan McIntosh came over from Scotland to share a pint and a pretty decent conversation with us. Rob Wall, Alec Couros, Dean Shareski, Cindy Seibel and Kyle Lichtenwald sat down with Ewan at Bobby’s Tavern in Moose Jaw. A big thanks to Dean for hosting a great get together in his home city.

I use to look over people’s blogs that had del.icio.us post linking to all the things they bookmarked that day. I use to think that this was a waste of my time, that those links are just links. Then I actually started reading some. Which lead to clicking on some.

A blogger by the name of Bud the Teacher turned me on to a book A Schoolmaster of the Great City. Bud suggested the book would show some of the very same problems we see today in the classroom. I think we also see some of the same philosophical questions that schools face today.

I ask everyone else in the Posse to promote new podcasts, but I always forget to do it myself. Bad me! Rick, Heather, Dean (from his hammock) and I connected on Skype for a conversation on online social connections and the importance of disconnecting (and we missed Alec’s contributions to the conversation).

I just finished a week-long tech workshop for the Area 3 Writing Project. What a treat to hang out for five days with 18 enthusiastic teachers, eager to add Web 2.0 tools to their classroom toolkit. For many it was a steep learning curve, but all left with at least one Edublog ready to go.

This is going to be a somewhat eclectic post, with no real insight or conclusion from me (yes, I know, I know), but I think that there are some connections here that perhaps somebody (or even my future self) can make. There also could be nothing at all here, but I think the links are interesting in and of themselves even if there is no real connection or higher meaning.
